– To comply with all applicable environmental regulations and strive to exceed compliance – To conserve energy, water and other natural resources – To develop and implement practices that prevent pollution and waste – To be an environmentally responsible business within our community
What we are doing:
- Recycle all mixed paper at our desk trash cans
- Recycle all plastic bottles and aluminum cans in the appropriate recycle bins
- Use supplied mugs and glasses in place of paper
- Print on double-sided paper when possible
- Use Black/White copies instead of color when possible
- Use electronic media whenever possible (email, efax, scanning, etc)
- Use recycled office supplies
- Turn off computers and other electronics when they are not in use
- Make sure the office and bathroom lights are turned off when not in use
- Remove your name from junk mailing lists by going to www.stopjunkmail.org
- Assisting clients to also be removed from junk mail lists
- Reuse single sided paper for scratch paper and notepads
- Recycle batteries and toner cartridges
- Use blinds in building for light control and reducing cooling costs
- Carpool whenever possible
- Carefully plan routes to be efficient when driving
- Keep vehicles well maintained
- Patronize services close to your business (ideally those who are also green certified)
- Choose products with less packaging
- Use reusable bags when shopping instead of paper and plastic
- Recycle at home
- When replacing appliances, purchase Energy Star qualified appliances
- Save water at home with low flow toilets, aerators on faucets; wash clothes in cold water and take shorter/hot showers
- Use Green Star or environmentally friendly cleaning products
- Change light bulbs at home to Compact Fluorescent Bulbs (CFL’s)
- Internalize and adopt Environmental Policy and communicate our mission with clients and friends
- Follow the office policy and abide by the Green Business Pledge
